About Me

I am 30 years old, born and raised on the Westbank of New Orleans, Louisiana. I have been drawing "as long as I could hold a pencil" (my mom always said). Next to my Lord Jesus (and my husband), art is my passion. I was home schooled from 6th to 12th grade and received an Associates degree in Visual Communications at Delgado Community Collage. (I love you Mrs. Mae!)

Over the years I have done many different art jobs: logos, portraits, coloring books, murals, t-shirt designs, architectural rendering, illustrations, Christmas ornaments, ect. I am currently working on illustrating a series of children's books by Warren Swenson called Jacque Pierre's Cajun Christmas Tails (which doesn't leave too much time for other endeavors.) Yet, however versatile I may be, my favorite thing is character design. I love to create people with diverse ages, backgrounds and races, and play around with their expressions and body language. It only stands to reason that my favorite Christian artist is Dennis Jones and my favorite artist of all time is Norman Rockwell.

I believe my talent is God-given. And in Colossians 3:23, I'm told: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men." That is my goal, to use what God has given me to be a blessing to as many people as possible. So since my husband, Matthew Miller, is so good at making websites, I figured why not have him make me one? Well, it was kind of his idea… Anyway, in case you're wondering why it's Boo's art, while growing up, my parents called me Becky Boo and it kind of stuck. I hope you enjoy it!
